It seems you're using Windows XP. After restarting still nothing happened though and the resolution setting still is stuck at x with no other options given.

I could downscalingsupplrted change the resolution in the normal Windows 7 way I did try the apps with an external monitor which worked fine. Attached Files high resolution.
